Julie, tell us about Andalusia. What makes this trip so special?<\/h2>\r\nThe magic of this journey lies in doing everything on foot! That alone puts us in a completely different mindset compared to our daily lives. Once we arrive in the small villages, we hike for seven days, moving from one village to another on trails that have existed since the ninth century! It\u2019s a truly unique experience. Personally, I can go back again and again and never get tired of it.\r\n\r\nWhat\u2019s great is the contrast between valleys and highlands. In the valleys, white villages cling to the slopes, surrounded by cultivated terraces. Agriculture here follows a staircase pattern: small, non-mechanized plots, orchards, vegetable gardens, and grain fields.\r\n\r\nAs we walk, we pass through woodlands and encounter flocks of goats and sheep. Gradually, we ascend into a more open area, with vast meadows where cows and horses graze. That\u2019s when we leave the forests behind, and the view opens up\u2014we feel the approach of the high mountains.\r\n\r\nIf we continue further, we enter the Sierra Nevada National Park. Up there, the landscape is wild and rugged. In winter, everything is blanketed in snow, and even in spring, patches of snow cling to the peaks. The name Sierra Nevada literally means \"snow-capped mountain range.\"\r\n\r\nThere\u2019s also a mountain refuge in this area, the starting point for summit ascents. It\u2019s currently under renovation, and we can\u2019t wait for it to reopen! Who is a trek in Andalusia for? What level of fitness is required?<\/h2>\r\nThis trip caters to a wide range of fitness levels. The beauty of this itinerary is its flexibility. Each day, you can choose to hike for three hours or extend it to seven or eight hours, depending on your mood. Travelers can decide daily based on how they feel.\r\n\r\nBy nature, it\u2019s a trekking journey, so you have to enjoy walking, but the difficulty level is fully adaptable. The villages along the way also invite you to slow down, explore the surroundings, and take time to appreciate nature. The sun, butterflies, flowers\u2026 they\u2019re all part of the trip\u2019s charm.\r\n\r\nOn the trek we offer at Karavaniers, I love the balance between demanding hiking days, where you feel the effort, and more relaxed days where you can take it easy. And in the evenings? A hot shower, a comfortable bed\u2026 and amazing food. We always make time for a terrace aperitif\u2014this is a real vacation! Plus, since everything is planned out in advance, there\u2019s no mental burden, allowing you to be fully present in the moment.\r\n

Do you need specific training before the trip?<\/h3>\r\nNot necessarily. But you should be able to handle multiple consecutive days of hiking. That said, when you're on vacation, discovering new places and walking daily, you often find yourself with more energy than expected!\r\n

Do you have to carry your backpack?<\/h3>\r\nYou only need to carry a daypack with your essentials for the day. When is the best time to trek in Andalusia?<\/h2>\r\nSpring is magical: fresh green landscapes, blossoming trees, and snow patches still clinging to the peaks. Autumn, on the other hand, offers a different atmosphere\u2014flowers have turned into fruit. As you walk, you can pick figs, blackberries, and walnuts. There are olive trees, almond trees, and, of course, a bounty of ripened vegetables.\r\n\r\nAs for food, the meals are entirely local: refreshing gazpacho, olives, almonds, regional cheeses\u2026 You can go the whole trip without eating the same dish twice! The variety is incredible, and the food is simple, local, and bursting with flavour.\r\n

What about winter and summer?<\/h3>\r\nWinter brings too much snow, and many facilities close. Summer is the opposite\u2014it\u2019s unbearably hot, often between 35 \u00b0C and 45 \u00b0C (95 \u00b0F-113 \u00b0F).\r\n\r\nThe best seasons?
