Defective Design or Defective Product?

My stove is two months old, been on three car camping trips, and has used two fuel canisters.

The build quality generally is solid. It is heavier than most other stoves, but as a car camping stove, that’s not a big deal. The outer shell of the stove is solid enough that a storage bag is not needed. For cooking, it’s heavy enough that it stays in place and doesn’t slide around. It is nice not having wind blocking side panels and this stove has lots of useable cooking space.

The burners provide distributed heat with their many orifices, and there doesn’t appear to be hot spots.

The control of the burners (as with most stoves) remains a challenge. Although the two burners should operate the same, the left burner clearly operates more smoothly through its range. Generally you have reasonable control from full open through to a lower setting. Simmering may still be a challenge. Frying can be a challenge too as the pan can get too hot too quickly. Holding the pan just off the burner helped. The right burner however is pretty much an on/off control. Although you can turn down the control it springs back to a higher setting. With luck you can set in down lower than desired and hope it springs back to where you want. A clear difference in how the two control function for some reason.

On occasion, the combination of burner setting and pot/pan causes a resonance “singing”. Annoying for sure, but is corrected by shifting the pot/pan or adjusting the burner level.

Critical Product Failure:

The pan supports are much lighter material and form the Wind Block part of the stove. After such little use of the product, many of the joints of the perforated wind screen sections to the lower ring of the pan support are rusting.

I’m now stuck in what looks to be a long warranty claim process that has an unknown outcome. Will I be stuck with a defective rusting stove? Will they simply replace the pan supports, with the same thing to reoccur?

Thoroughly disappointed. I expect much more out of an expensive stove from a company like Coleman.
