Quality and Canadian
I looked at several bows and Excalibur blows them all out of the water. Buy Canadian and a Lifetime warrrantee? How the hell could you go wrong? Best Crossbow I have ever owned, PERIOD.
Solid bow. I have owned several Excal bows over the years and this is a nice upgrade. It's light, shorter and not as wide which means its less clumsy in the field.. All nice improvements and very happy to successfully harvest a buck this year with my 335. My bow was also 1" off at 20 yards after taking it out of the box. A lot of power at 30, 40 and still 50 yards.
Only draw back is getting used to uncocking the bow. The dry-fire safety is a nice feature but for me, it's just been a piece to get used to in the dark.
Excalibur hits a Grand Slam!
Nice bow. Very light when compared to others. Being a recurve the draw weight of 270# may be an issue for some but with the cocking I found it easier than expected. they more I shot it the easier it became. This is a very rugged bow. I went to the range to sight it but found it to be accurate to within 1/2" at 30 yards right out of the box.
The bolts or quills are 16.5" long. This is a new model so I'm sure these will become more available with time. While target practicing one of the tips and inserts came out and was lodged deep in the target. This is understandable when realizing the heat from the friction as it penetrates had heated the glue and softened it. Knowing this I'd recommend picking up a pack of field points and front end inserts when you get this bow.
Weight was not an issue. My wife tried it out and she said it felt well balanced. Not too heavy at the front. This bow will serve you well if you still hunt as I do. When cocked it is no wider than my shoulders. Uncocking it is a bit of a challenge though. You will need to une the cocking aid. Otherwise you will need to release a bolt to uncock. It has an anti dry fire mechanism. This is one quality bow that'll serve me well for years to come. Only bow I'll need.
All in all Excalibur hit a Grand Slam with this bow!
