Expanding upon the reputation that has made the SLX series of low-profile reels a household name, the SLX XT A adds to the benefits seen within the SLX A. In addition to SilentTune technology to achieve near-noiseless and an overall smoother reeling experience, the SLX XT A lineup incorporates Shimano’s SVS Infinity braking system so anglers can make on-water adjustments whether throwing heavy or light lures using an easy-to-access external dial. The lightweight, rigid-metal aluminum Hagane body provides an ultra-rigid platform for solid hooksets and uniform reeling power.
- Hagane is a Shimano reel design concept created to withstand continual use and extreme abuse. Hagane is an innovation with built-in toughness and durability that works alongside Shimano's precision engineering. Hagane is for all anglers
- Hagane: the Hagane body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing on the reel while fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power, increasing efficiency through strength
- SilenTune: by applying slight pressure to the bearing holding the spool, SilenTune reduces the vibration of the bearing during high-speed rotation. This improves the quietness while casting and the rise of the spool rotation becomes even smoother
- S3D spool: S3D technology leads to significantly reduced spool vibration. By designing and constructing a balanced and uniform thin-wall aluminum spool, S3D creates an incredibly smooth feeling when casting and retrieving lures
- Super Free Spool eliminates friction on the spool shaft during the cast. They are constructed so that the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing
